Hung took me to see a real silk worm factory. I saw the worms in their cocoons all lined up on palm leaf trays waiting to mature. Just before they mature they are taken to large troughs of water. They are placed in cold water in order to kill the worm and then warm water to loosen the silk cocoon. Then the silk is woven and cleaned and woven again till the quality is good enough for making garments. There were some worms who didn't get the privilege of becoming part of someones wardrobe and either became butterfly's or dinner.
