Now i only had a day and a half before i had to make it back to Vientiane for my flight to Bangkok, so i made sure i packed in the famous River tubing asap!

You basically pay for a tuk tuk ride with your blown up inner tube chucked on the roof, jump out, then jump in the river and let the current take you down stream. There are bars all along the river bank and so when you decide you wanna stop for a drink (which is practically every bar), you shout or paddle (depending on how pissed you are already) and grab you're free shot of vodka and get to know all the other crazy dudes floating along....it was awesome and i will definaltely be going back.

However i will make sure i actually get back to my tuk tuk by the designated time of 6pm....not 10pm when i and some other smashed guys eventually got rescued about 2 miles down stream in the pitch black darkness of night....laughing like maniacs whilst trying to hold onto each others tubs and shout for help. I was so tired by then that I think I shouted "Fuck it, I'll float to Bangkok instead"!
